Baker Overstreet (American, born )

Baker Overstreet (American, b.1981) is a Contemporary painter, known for his large-scale, symmetrically abstract works. He has said his geometric pattern of symbols are influenced by tribal art, Art Brut, and graffiti. Born in Augusta, GA, Overstreet went on to receive his BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2004, and his MFA from Yale University in 2006. His work has been the subject of solo exhibition at Kai Heinze in Berlin, Fredericks & Freiser in New York, and Mary Pauline Gallery in Augusta. He lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
