1894: Born in Miesbach, Bavaria, Germany
1913: At the Munich Art Academy he started out in Heinrich von Zügel's painting class but changed after a semester to Becker-Gundahl's class in drawing from the nude.
1915: Published "Sirius, eine Monatsschrift für Literatur and Kunst"
1915: Published a portfolio of ten woodcuts, "Christian Schad", at the Sirius press
1916: Christian Schad moved to Geneva to join the Dada movement
1919: Experimented with what he called Schadographs (photography without a camera or lenses)
1920: Abandoning Dada, Schad turned to painting his first realistic pictures
1942: Worked as a cultural critic and for the theatre
1982: Died in Stuttgart, Germany
