Danh Vo (Vietnamese, b.1975) is a performance and Conceptual artist known for his readymade objects that examine themes of culture, conflict, and displacement. When he was a child, his family left Vietnam and immigrated to Denmark, and his work is a reflection of the upheavals he experienced early in life. Vo studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Denmark, and the Städelschule in Frankfurt.
He was the recipient of the Hugo Boss Prize in 2012 in recognition of his achievements in the field of Contemporary Art.
Vo had his first solo exhibition in 2005, at the Galerie Klosterfelde in Berlin. He is represented by prestigious galleries, including the
Marian Goodman Gallery in New York,
Galerie Chantal Crousel in Paris, and
Galerie Buchholz in Cologne, among others. He participated in the Venice Biennale in 2013, and his work has been exhibited at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, and the Musée d''art moderne de la Ville de Paris, to name a few.
Vo lives and works in Berlin, Germany.
