His work is held by major American Museums including the Whitney Museum of Art, the Los Angeles County Museum, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and Santa Barbara Museum of Art.
Howard Warshaw was born August 1920 in New York City. Warshaw began his studies in the fine arts at the National Academy of Design and at the Art Students League in New York under Homer Boss and Howard Trafton. In 1942, he moved to Los Angeles and was introduced to William Brice, Eugene Berman, and most importantly, Rico Lebrun who became especially influential in terms of artistic direction and cultural environment.
