Ingolf Timpner (German, b.1963) is a black-and-white photographer, known for combining traditional and Contemporary forms to create revealing portraits of his subjects. Recently, Timpner collaborated with fellow Contemporary artist
Irene Andessner for the exhibition
Human Condition held at
Galerie Bugdahn und Kaimer in Düsseldorf, Germany. The show was dedicated to universal expressions of human life and the images were paired with words such as dream, waste, love, and happiness. The works were intentionally evocative of early photographic techniques, but were also unmistakably taken in the present.
He has shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout Europe. His work is to be found in collections such as those of the DZ-Bank in Frankfurt, the E.ON corporation in Düsseldorf and Museum Ludwig in Cologne.
Timpner lives and works in Düsseldorf.
