Ivy Dachman is a contemporary American painter. Her works walk the line between deliberation and spontaneity. She works with a self determined and evolving set of parameters. Primary among these is the use of pentimenti to develop the compositions. She was born in New York City in 1951 and went on to receive her BFA from The Cooper Union in 1972 and her MFA from Queens College CUNY in 1974. She received a New York Foundation for the Arts Award in Painting in 1998. And has shown in numerous galleries including AIR Gallery and The Drawing Center. Ms Dachman has work in the collection of Price Waterhouse Coopers and Metro Media Fiber Network as well as private collections. She lives in Croton on Hudson and works in Peekskill NY.
