James Leonard Buxton, Jr – Is a contemporary American sculptor. His stylized conceptual work is characterized by the use of furniture parts and repurpose, recycled items. His work is based on research, American history, Art history, political and social issues in the world. Born in Newburgh, N.Y. in 1959, he went on to receive his BFA in Sculpture from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. and two MFAs from the University of Pennsylvania in Sculpture and Printmaking. Buxton has numerous exhibitions in Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Tennessee, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Arizona, Michigan, Washington, Ohio and Paris, France.
