Josephine Meckseper (German, born )

Josephine Meckseper (German, b.1964) is a New York-based collage and installation artist whose work critics cultural consumerism and the politics of power through the appropriation of images from advertising and fashion. Meckseper studied at the Berlin University of Fine Arts, and went on to complete her MFA at the California Institute of the Arts. She has held exhibitions at major international institutions, including the Whitney Museum of Fine Art in New York, NY; the Royal Academy in London, UK; and the Museum fur Gegenwartskunst in Zurich, Switzerland.

The artist is represented by the Andrea Rosen Gallery in New York, and ARNDT in Berlin.
