Marie-Aimée Lucas-Robiquet was a student of the well-known artist Félix-Joseph Barrias. She made her debut at the Paris Salon in 1879 with some of her portraits. She painted the Mort de la Vierge for the Notre-Dame church in d’Avranches, where she was born and raised, as well as a piece for the city’s museum called Au Puits.
