Miriam Bisceglia (American, born )

Timeline

Born in 1957, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Miriam received a BS from New York University in 1979. At New York University she studied drawing with Robert Kaupelis and Viscosity Print Making with Krishna Reddy. They were both great influences to her life and her art. In 1980, Miriam continued her education at The Fashion Institute of Technology and received a year later, an AAS in Textile Design. Miriam worked for many years in the fashion industry as a designer, developing fabric patterns and creating color lines. In 2000, Miriam returned to school to pursue an MFA in Painting and Printmaking at William Paterson University of New Jersey. Upon graduation, in 2005, she received the prestigious graduate award for Creative Excellence in Visual Art. Miriam has been teaching in the Art Department at William Paterson since 2005 and is currently teaching their Textile Design courses. Her work is held in the collection of The Housatonic Museum of Art in Bridgeport Connecticut, as well as many private collections across the country. Miriam currently lives and works in Jersey City, New Jersey.
