Nancy McTague-Stock is a contemporary painter, printmaker and photographer. Working in an expressionistic realist style, her environmentally focused works are characterized by subtlety, atmospheric nuance, luminosity and underlying meaning. Having lived on nature preserves as well as urban centers, Nancy’s works pay homage to the daily observation of what is sometimes missed, through an amalgam of media. Born in New York, she received her BFA at Virginia Commonwealth University, her MFA at the Art Institute of Boston and studied with Robert Maione at the Art Students League. McTague-Stock’s work has been exhibited in eleven museum group shows across the United States and in ten countries. The recipient of many fellowships, residencies and awards, she continues to hone her vision in her Connecticut studio. Her work is collected by private and public institutions worldwide, including most recent acquisitions of her work by Yale University’s Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, The Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., The Douro Museum Printmaking Biennial Collection in Portugal and The Chateau Orquevaux Permanent Collection in France.
