His paintings present snapshots of contemporary life. His paintings are narrative in that they seem to be telling a story, but that story is open to the viewer’s interpretation. It is like watching a panned and scanned version of a widescreen film. There is a mesmerising interface in his work between past and present, the contemporary scenes represented are executed in a very traditional manner, using techniques employed since the Renaissance.
