1918
Immigrated to the US with his family at the age of 12. He and his family settled into New York City where the artist attended public school during the day and enrolled in the NY Academy of Design in the evenings.
1922
Attended classes at the Educational Alliance, New York, NY where he befriended many important artists of the day including Motherwell, the Soyer brothers, and Chaim Gross.
He finished his education with the Beaux Arts School and the Industrial Arts School where he was taught by artist Abraham Bogdonove.

Travled with artist Joseph Perna across the United States
1930
Worked in the WPA in the easel painting division
1942
During WWII went to work at Packard Motor Co., Detroit, MI, as a tool and die designer
