Richard K. Loud (American, born )

Richard Loud (American, b. 1942) is a painter specializing in maritime scenes. The son of a master shipwright and builder, Loud was born and raised in Quincy Bay, MA, later working as a deckhand and assisting his father design and construct yachts. His intimate and expert knowledge of boats is evident in his details paintings and drawings. Loud is the recipient of numerous awards for his art, including the Mystic International Exhibitions award in 1988, 1989, 1990, and 1994. His work has entered several private and public collections, such as the H.M.S. Rose Foundation in Bridgeport, the Smithsonian Institute, and the Texas Maritime Museum.
