Scott Burdick (American, b.1967) is a figurative artist. Born in Chicago, IL, Burdick’s parents encouraged his interest in art. As a teenager, Scott began taking life-drawing classes at the American Academy of Art under well-known artist
Bill Parks. After finishing the academy, Scott continued his studies at the Palette and Chisel Art Club, where he met his wife, painter Susan Lyon.
The artist travels extensively throughout the word in search of subject matter for his mostly figurative paintings. The diverse cultures, costumes, and customs he observes all offer a wide variety of material for his work.
He has has been featured in articles in
Southwest Art,
Art of the West,
American Artist,
Art Talk, and many other publications. He is a member of the Palette and Chisel Art Club, Oil Painters of America, and the Northwest Rendezvous group, and participates in the
Masters of the West exhibition at the Autry Museum in Los Angeles.
