Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe was a Swedish master jeweler. She was the first female silversmith in Sweden to have her own workshop. “A piece of jewelry should be a symbol of love. It should enhance and move with the body so that it blends with you,” the artist said. “It must not overwhelm, but enhance you. This is why it must be timeless.” Born on December 4, 1927 in Malmö, Sweden, she went on to study at the Academy of Industrial Arts in Stockholm. In 1948, Torun travelled through France where she met artists and celebrities, including Brigitte Bardot and Pablo Picasso. The artist went on design some of her most famous jewelry for the Danish company Georg Jensen. Torun died on July 3, 2004 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Today, her works can be found in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Swedish National Museum in Stockholm, and the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich.
