On July 31, 2022, AYE Gallery will launch a dual solo exhibition of two post-80s artists, Walter Yu and Zhang Mengchen. The theme of the exhibition, "Doubled Landscape", is the superposition of two different landscapes-whether a windowscape or dreamscape, the essence of which is fundamentally the landscape of emotions and energies. The concept of energy signifiers, introduced by Jansword Zhu, an art historian, was distilled from Carl Jung’s psychological archetypes and western astrological theories, as a semiotic disassembly based on the symbolic semantics of the eastern and western Astrological Archetypes. Walter Yu's dreamsacpe is rational, cautious and restrained, while Zhang Mengchen's windowscape is emotional, candid and passionate. The life energy of the two artists is under the migration line of space, and the sun and the moon are shining together.
