The first of Gladwell & Patterson’s two winter Palm Beach shows, the gallery will be showcasing traditional contemporary paintings and sculptures of the finest quality at Art Palm Beach. Highlights include oil paintings by American contemporary classical realist painter Paul S. Brown

Emulating the techniques and materials of the Old Masters, Paul’s focus is universal beauty. Renowned for his exquisite still lives, his latest diversion upon this theme is a series inspired by whimsical childhood memories. Paul is an exquisite draftsman, and his perfectly composed works are rich with atmosphere, colour and detail. Paul S. Brown set up the Florence Academy of Art in Italy in the early 1990s alongside fellow classical realist, Daniel Graves, whose portraits, heavily influenced in the old master style of Rembrandt van Rijn, will also be on view at Art Palm Beach. The Florence Academy, one of the world’s most prestigious art teaching institutions, is renowned for its commitment to the academic tradition.

Fellow artist Clarissa James, trained at the Florence Academy of Art, and upholds the rigorous traditions of Classical art through her jewel like paintings of peacocks and cranes. Her aptly titled magnificent oil painting on gold leaf, Jewels, reveals her love of opulent texture. Clarissa’s work is contemplative and is ideally suited to the Palm Beach aesthetic. Further highlights include abstract oil paintings by two highly acclaimed British artists; Peter Wileman whose dazzling abstracted landscapes, painted in a bold and vigorous style, explore the effect of light in the landscape through vibrant colour and textured brushstrokes. Kenneth Webb’s paintings are an exploration and celebration of the natural world through colour. Kenneth’s Sweet Pea paintings, on view at Art Palm Beach, capture the artists’ playful nature through a joyous aesthetic and celebration of colour harmonies.
