Maddox Gallery is delighted to announce the opening of Breaking Boundaries, a brand new group exhibition celebrating their incredibly talented roster of artists. From 22nd May, a new selection of work transforms the elegant Victorian townhouse, ready for Londoners and tourists alike to enjoy over the spring bank holiday weekend. Breaking Boundaries showcases a number of much celebrated popular icons in the contemporary art world. Visitors can expect to see film stars Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor featured alongside music legends Prince and The Beatles. British Royalty even makes an appearance, with HRM Queen Elizabeth imagined in very different styles by both Bradley Theodore and Michael Moebius. Following on from the incredible success of his latest solo exhibition The Second Coming, Bradley Theodore’s work features once again in Maddox Gallery. While currently virtual reality artist in residence for Google, here Theodore returns to his more traditional signature style of skull motif canvases. Also featured is pop artist Michael Moebius, whose works have recently graced the cover of luxury publications including the Robb Report and Superyacht Digest. He adds his iconic bubblegum motif to a selection of stars, including his most recent subject, David Bowie. Other names include Los Angeles-based international art star Retna, emerging favourite Finn Stone and renowned artist Russell Young. Maddox Gallery Managing Director and Curator James Nicholls comments: “We are so delighted to be an established destination for art lovers and investors. This exhibition is a celebration of our varied roster of artists, and features some of our favourite pieces.” This is the start of a busy summer for Maddox Gallery, who recently announced that they were the official sponsor of the ‘Artist of the Year’ category at the GQ Men of the Year Awards 2017, due to held at the Tate Modern in September. Cordelia de Freitas, Maddox Gallery Director commented: “GQ Man of the Year Awards is one of the most eagerly anticipated nights in London and I am thrilled that Maddox Gallery will be part of such a prestigious event.”
