Marianne Boesky Gallery is pleased to participate in the 2021 edition of Art Basel Miami Beach showcasing new works by Jammie Holmes, Suzanne McClelland, Danielle Mckinney, Celeste Rapone, and Michaela Yearwood-Dan—the most recent artists to join the gallery’s roster. The booth will also highlight works by the gallery’s program of artists including Ghada Amer, Jennifer Bartlett, Sanford Biggers, Svenja Deininger, The Haas Brothers, Jay Heikes, Dashiell Manley, and more. The fair will be on view November 30 – December 4, 2021, at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

Jammie Holmes will debut the work Illusions and Meanings (2021), wherein the artist creates an expressive tableau that incorporates portraiture, symbols, text, and objects to reveal universal truths through personal narratives. Suzanne McClelland presents paintings from a new body of work that explores trade and commerce by way of their geographic origins—specifically rivers—and accentuates the influence climate and landscape have on the economic and social fabric of our culture. Danielle Mckinney's emotionally evocative and self-reflective portraits will be on view, works which draw from the artist’s background in photography and the immediacy of social media imagery. A new painting by Celeste Rapone will also be featured at the fair, extending her exploration of the boundaries between figuration and abstraction by experimenting with surface, pattern, and color. In a new work, Michaela Yearwood-Dan weaves references to pop culture, the nature of Blackness, feminism, and botanical imagery to lushly illustrate her evolving cultural present.

Additional works on view include Ghada Amer’s Linda in Blue (2021), a bronze sculpture that depicts the artist’s recurring motif of anonymous female portraiture in her continued questioning of the history of art; Jennifer Bartlett’s Table (2000-2001), a large-scale canvas combining the artist’s mathematical abstraction with painterly realism; and Sanford Biggers’s marble sculpture Mercy (2021), in which the artist merges African and European figures and forms to prompt questions around the dissemination and appropriation of culture and aesthetics. Specially made for the gallery’s presentation at Art Basel Miami Beach, The Haas Brothers will display new hand-carved, sustainably sourced walnut benches and chairs in their recognizable, playful style that merges art and design. Donald Moffett’s Lot 071819 (night one) (2019) will also be on view, a work that is equal parts sculpture and painting. The piece is a part of the artist’s ongoing body of resin artworks which features an array of biological and environmental allusions through abstract and organic forms.
