For more than five decades, Yvonne Lammerich’s evocative contemporary artwork has explored the human journey and challenged our perceptions of how we occupy space and time.

The Canadian artist’s innovative and impressive portfolio has been an ‘unfolding’—an investigation of alternative outlooks through an artistic lens. This solo exhibition includes paintings and works on paper that offer a fresh, and imaginative perspective of our collective experience. Lammerich thinks of herself as a ‘visual philosopher’ and her visual style is both non-representational--abstracted and cross-cultural. She embraces a worldview that pays homage to the past, and resides in the present as a ‘witness to the moment’ in which she lives.

“I came to recognize states of pictorial language as an active enfolding and unfolding of beliefs: a mythic movement between the edges of lightness and darkness- time and space, materiality and immateriality, presence and absence, an oscillation between becoming and being.” Yvonne Lammerich.

Yvonne Lammerich has shown nationally and internationally since 1973. Her work is included in museums as well as corporate and private collections. Born in Germany, her studio practice has been based in France, Montreal, Toronto, and currently in Prince Edward County, Ontario.
