Susan Sheehan Gallery, a New York-based gallery specializing in American masterworks on paper from the Post- War period, will present an important group of prints by Andy Warhol from the holdings of the Cy Twombly Foundation. The group includes many seminal works from the 1960s, including pristine impressions of Marilyn, Flowers, and the iconic Campbell’s Soup series. Also exhibited will be a rare and important group of color woodcuts by Helen Frankenthaler, and a boldly colored series of lithographs by the minimalist sculptor Dan Flavin. This set is dedicated to Flavin's lifelong friend Donald Judd and is rare to find as a complete set. Other minimalist works include complete sets of works by Robert Mangold and Sol LeWitt - all printed at Kathan Brown’s pioneering San Francisco-based workshop Crown Print Press. Works by Ellsworth Kelly, Jasper Johns, and Cy Twombly will round out the gallery’s presentation. This exhibition will showcase a collection of important artworks that celebrate printmaking and the artists who used the medium to expand their
