For Frieze London 2022, Tina Kim Gallery is pleased to present new and recent paintings, sculptures, and installations by artists Pacita Abad, Ghada Amer, Davide Balliano, Wook- Kyung Choi, Ha Chong-Hyun, Gimhongsok, Suki Seokyeong Kang, Mire Lee, Minouk Lim, Minoru Niizuma, Tania Pérez Córdova, Park Seo-Bo, Kim Tschang-Yeul, Kim Yong-Ik, and Kwon Young-Woo at Booth F05.

Booth highlights will include Abad’s well-known padded trapunto canvases, Ghada Amer’s provocative embroidered canvases that touch on themes of womanhood and feminism, as well as historically significant works dating from the 1960s and 70s by pioneering Dansaekhwa artists. In addition, the booth will present a new iteration of Mire Lee's large-scale hanging sculpture, Endless House (Harlequin Baby) (2022), which expands on the artist's current solo exhibition at the gallery's location in New York.

Many of the artists exhibited are the subject of significant solo exhibitions around the world in 2022 and 2023, including transnational painter Pacita Abad’s major retrospective which will be presented at the Walker Art Center, MN; SFMoMA, CA; and MoMA PS1, NY; Ghada Amer's retrospective at the MUCEM, Marseilles (opening December 2, 2022), Tania Pérez Córdova's solo exhibition at the Museo Tamayo, Mexico City (opening October 1, 2022), as well as Ha Chong Hyun's retrospective as part of the official collateral program of the 59th Venice Biennale, 2022. The presentation offers a look into each artist's distinctive practice, highlighting the broad range of conceptual and formal issues that they explore.
