This exhibition will explore Porter’s influence on Ketchum’s photographic career from the Ketchum’s own perspective. Porter’s photographs will be loaned from the Amon Carter and were personally selected by Ketchum to highlight how the two photographers approached the American landscape and its vivid colors. Finally, this exhibition will explore the technical challenges both artists faced in bringing their colorful photographs to life, offering a teaching moment on the emergence of color photography as a medium. Opening reception March 7, 2020.
