Nigel Hall is a Royal Academician who stands as one of the most esteemed and respected sculptors in contemporary British art. Drawing has been an essential part of Hall's practice throughout his career. The artist always carries with him a small black hardbound sketchbook to note ideas. Often the small sketches are ideas for sculpture, and sometimes they are ideas for drawings. Although known for sculpture, Hall's practise is concerned with an exploration of space, whether in two or three dimensions; he has always had a rigorous commitment to drawing as an endpoint in its own sake - playing with light and shadow and overlapping planes to create sense of depth, otherness and suggested worlds beyond,
With a long lasting and successful career marked by many international exhibitions and worldwide collections, we are honored and delighted to present thiese early drawings here, many of which have not be exhibited before. Viewing of these works will be by appointment only in the studio of the artist. The works are offered unframed, and all prices are subject to VAT. Please get in touch should you wish to secure a work or arrange a viewing.
